History And Company Profile
In the summer of 1997, a small computer shop aimed at harnessing the market of computer rentals in front of a budding but otherwise populous school was put up at Calasiao, Pangasinan. The store was formally opened on February 8, 1998. The absence of a complete computer shop in the vicinity was the initial reason for its existence. It was then the time of the Asian crisis and business wasn’t so good so the business just thrived on computer rentals and desktop publishing alone. The small shop was given the name STRINGS Enterprises/Computers.
For the entire first half of 1998 the store only had two employees: two all-around technicians but by May of the same year, the clientele was expanded to include private individuals and professionals leading to the creation of the “service and maintenance” division to cater to the growing call of computer repairs.. By the end of 1998, modest achievements were made because the local I.T. market was relatively fledgling.
In 1999, after the recession, the sales division of Strings was given the name STRINGS Computers and Technologies or STRINGS Tech. The market was again expanded and clients from both nearby and far-flung towns of Pangasinan were tapped. Gradually, corporate clients were also brought in so that by the end of the year, the clientele became more diverse.
In December of 2002, five years after the first store was put up, the Dagupan branch was opened. This 2nd branch was envisioned to harness the consumer market, which has been getting a great share of the I.T. market since the turn of the century. More than a month later, a partnership was forged with MAGIC Appliance Incorporated, the technology arm of the MAGIC Group of Companies, one of the biggest local group of companies. Since the tie-up, STRINGS has provided more consumers with computers and accessories because of its easy-own plans. Subsequently, STRINGS also forged ties with ORIX Financing, Japans biggest leasing company, and with PCI-LEASING, a leading finance company in the Philippines.
In the Early part of 2003, the Information Technology division was created to indulge the request of several corporate institutions for complete business solutions that are sold at reasonable costs. We also offer finished software, including, but not limited to, web-based and network solutions e.g. website creation, design, maintenance and consultancy.
In 2004, the Urdaneta City branch was opened as part of the company’s goal to reach out to Pangasinenses in the East. Barely 9 months later, was the Alaminos Branch opened in January of 2005 to cater to the Western market of Pangasinan and nearby Zambales towns.
In July of 2006, the DIGITAL SOLUTIONS DIVISION was created and was given the monicker “Digital Advertising Solutions Hub (DASH)” to emphasize its being an ALL-IN-ONE advertising entity catering to the demands of the Northern part of Luzon. In 2008, the Tarlac and San Fernando branch were opened.
At present, STRINGS employs people fully trained to provide Total Customer Care and Satisfaction in the field of Information and Communication Technologies, and with one simple goal – People Empowerment. It aims to provide more computers and other forms of technological advancement to a greater number of Filipinos in order to stretch the hand of useful technology thereby helping the Philippines in its goal to make life better, it’s people knowledgeable, skilled and globally competitive and at the same time provide much needed employment to a lot of deserving and driven ICT graduates. Its constant goal is to maintain at least forty percent of the ICT market in Region I by the end of 2015 (and beyond) and ultimately build an IT school for the poor and less fortunate (and a training center for future leaders) while simultaneously expanding in other potential territories and tapping skilled and talented Filipinos to further enhance their crafts. It is guided by its Vision, Mission, Values and its credo:
“technology is for everybody”.
